Upcoming Events for Nov 2010

Next week, NTU Chinese Literature faculty would be putting up a play by local playwright Kuo Pao Kun called The Coffin is too Big for the Hole. It would be performed in Mandarin with English subtitles. I've already bought tickets for two and I can't wait to catch it on 18th November (Thurs). Somewhere near the island, another rare event is happening. Ajahn Brahm is coming to Singapore and giving a talk on "How to balance studies and personal life positively" from 2.30-5.00pm at the Shaw Foundation Alumni House. I would love to attend it although I have class during that time. If I were to go, I'll have to skip class. Also, next week Timbre would be celebrating it's 5th anniversary. There would be Live performances by local music groups/artists. I'm intending to attend it with my brothers, sister-in-law and my dearest cousin. This Saturday, my brother is letting me have a ticket for a musical called A Little Night Music performed by Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler. I've never heard of this musical before. I hope it would be good.

Lately, Selina and I germinated infant ideas about doing an arts magazine together. We reckoned that since we're going to have to graduate someday and look for jobs, why not tinker with something ourselves when we have nothing much to lose at our age. Nothing's solid as of yet since we haven't sat down to discuss it properly. But Selina's keen and so is Hwee Hsia. I know nuts about making a magazine. I pray we'll meet someone with the expertise and help us along the way. However this, we might have to put aside for the time being even though I've been hatching some plans on it. For in 3 weeks time, I'll have to submit 3 essay assignments. Kudos and cheers!

P.S Who's this pretty lady below? Check out this local jewel, Inch Chua. Her songs are free for download. Or if you're feeling generous like I did, do patronise her singing.
